fe Awards 2005 - Custodian of the year

THE BANK OF NEW YORK Going home with the 'Custodian of the Year' award is The Bank of New York (BoNY). With £10.3 trillion assets under custody, presence in 10 countries across Europe and conducting over 20,000 cross-border transactions a day, it was always a front runner in the custody section and, ultimately, the winner. Around 5,400 clients use the BoNY's bespoke reporting tool, INFORM.
And BoNY not only impressed our judges - in 2004/2005 it won several mandates with Reuters, Nordea, Natexis Banques Populaire and Abbey.
To enhance its services in Europe, BoNY has also established strategic alliances with Wilshire Associates, Nordea, and BHF Bank.
Through the alliance with Wilshire, BoNY offers enhanced services around analytics and research to the institutional market place. The relationship also means that BoNY can offer reporting and communication systems to its clients.
BoNY provides the technology and servicing infrastructure that allows Nordea to provide securities services to institutional clients in the Nordic region.
Finally, BoNY's joint venture with BHF Bank, established in July 2005, means that it is able to provide global custody to German investment companies as well as securities, custody and settlement services for the national and international direct investments of institutional investors.
