The European Fund and Asset Management Association (Efama) has appointed Claude Kremer president for a two-year term, replacing Jean-Baptiste de Franssu, who held the post for two years.
In his election speech at Efama’s annual general meeting, Kremer said his priorities include promoting long-term savings, encouraging investor information and education, supporting beneficial regulatory measures and promoting the Ucits brand.
Efama is also appointing Christian Dargnat and Massimo Tosato as vice presidents, the first time it has elected two people to this position. The association said the move reflects its commitment to engaging with industry regulation.
Kremer was chairman of the Association of the Luxembourg Fund Industry (Alfi) for four years. He is also a founding partner and head of investment management at the law firm Arendt & Medernach, based in Luxembourg.
