Eaton Vance hires Miles in international development push

Eaton Vance Management International (EVMI), a subsidiary of US investment management firm Eaton Vance, has appointed David Miles as vice president, business development director, UK financial institutions.

Based in the firm’s London office, Miles will be repsonsible for leading and increasing sales in the UK, as well as handling relationships with key financial institutions. He will report to Christopher Mason, vice president, director of business development, financial institutions, Europe.

The hire is in line with Eaton Vance’s ongoing objective of establishing a local client base and a strong footprint in the UK and Europe and is the second appointment to the firm’s distribution team this year.

With over 20 years of financial services experience, Miles joins Eaton Vance from Legal & General Investment Management (LGIM), where he was senior investment sales manager, responsible for distribution to London institutions. Before this, he covered institutions in the Channel Islands and Northern Europe.

Prior to joining LGIM, Miles also spent three years at MFS Investment Management as a regional vice president, and held senior intermediary sales roles for UK and Southern Europe clients at Govett Investment Management.

Commenting on the appointment, Niall Quinn, managing director, EVMI, says the firm plans to continue building up its distribution team in the future. Eaton Vance and its affiliates managed $295.6 billion (€275.0 billion) in assets as of January 31, 2015.
