City Financial makes five key hires

City Financial, an independent London-based fund manager, has hired Ed Rosengarten and four of his colleagues from Eden Financial to develop its in-house asset management capability.

Leigh Himsworth, Mark Harris, Thomas Leah and Kevin Mordrick are joining investment manager David Crawford, who was appointed in August.

The announcement comes just days after Canaccord Financial agreed to acquire the wealth management business of Eden Financial, subject to regulatory approval. Canaccord said this was to expand its UK wealth management platform, Collins Stewart Wealth Management.

Rosengarten joined Eden Financial in February last year to lead its expansion into asset management.

At City Financial, Himsworth, former head of UK equities at Gartmore Fund Managers, will continue to manage the CF Eden UK Select Opportunities Fund. Mark Harris, former head of funds of funds at Henderson Global Investors and New Star Asset Management, will develop the in-house multi-asset capability.

Leah is credit fund manager and Mordrick head of discretionary sales.
