Investment manager Capital Group has appointed Fabian Wallmeier to the newly created position of director institutional Switzerland.
Based in Zurich, Wallmeier will be responsible for institutional client relationship management and business development across all of Switzerland.
The firm says the new role highlights its commitment to deepening its relationships with clients across continental Europe.
Wallmeier has 20 years’ experience in the Swiss pension fund related industry and joins Capital from Fidelity, where he was a director and head of institutional business for Switzerland.
Previously he was responsible for DB Advisors’ institutional sales in Switzerland. He specialises in Swiss social security and is a member of the Swiss Pension Fund Association (ASIP).
Stephen Gosztony, head of institutional for Capital Group in Europe, says: “Capital has a long history in the Swiss marketplace, and as we expand our offering across Europe we recognise the need to continue to add focused knowledge and expertise.”
Capital Group, which has $1.35 trillion (€1.19 trillion) of assets under management, has worked in the Swiss institutional market for over 50 years, having first established its presence in Europe with the opening of its Geneva office in 1962.
