BNY Mellon hires five for derivatives clearing team

BNY Mellon is preparing for an expected rise in demand for derivatives clearing by adding five employees to its teams in Europe and the United States.

Mark B Gonzalez will be chief operating officer for derivatives clearing services in the US, while John Guthrie and Thomas Twomey join the business development team in New York.

Gregory Chemin will be head of business development for clearing services, based in Frankfurt, while Paul Dex will join the business development team in London.

Sanjay Kannambadi, global head of derivatives clearing services, says regulatory and market changes are pushing companies who trade derivatives to seek a clearing partner.

“With an ever-greater percentage of derivatives transactions expected to be cleared through central clearinghouses, the addition of these respected individuals will enhance our ability to help clients understand and prepare for how their needs will evolve,” he says.
