Ashcourt Rowan hires Frere-Scott as head of funds

Wealth manager Ashcourt Rowan has expanded its research team, through the hire of Jamie Frere-Scott as head of funds.

He takes up the role left open following the departure of Alan Scrimger in Mach 2014, to join independent investment boutique, IPS Capital.

Frere-Scott joins Ashcourt Rowan from UK life insurance company Mobius Life, where he worked for just less than a year as head of research.

At Mobius Life, Frere-Scott also held the roles of lead manager for UK fixed income and UK equity funds, and co-manager of multi-strategy and world equity funds.

Prior to this, he was head of research and a portfolio manager at Investment Solutions, and a portfolio analyst at Russell Investments.

In his new position, Frere-Scott will be based in London and will report to asset management chief executive officer, Harry Burnham.

Burnham says the appointment underscores the firm’s dedication to developing its research team.
