Amundi AI appoints Patel as head of directional strategies

Asset manager Amundi has appointed Navik Patel as head of directional strategies, senior analyst, at Amundi Alternative Investments, the firm’s specialist alternative boutique.

Patel, who will be based in the London office, has 15 years financial service experience, including 11 years hedge fund industry experience as both an analyst and portfolio manager.

He takes over from Amelie Derambure, who has moved internally to join the firm’s balanced solutions and asset allocation team, on the institutional and distribution business side.

Prior to joining Amundi AI, Patel worked for five years in alternative investments at Aberdeen Asset Management in New York, Philadelphia and London, most recently as a senior investment manager.

He also worked as a portfolio manager and senior analyst at Royal Bank of Scotland (RBS) Asset Management from 2004. In 2008, Patel moved to New York to establish a presence for RBS Asset Management and was responsible for the research of US based managers across all strategies.

Amundi has over €850 billion of assets under management and Amundi AI has over $10 billion (€9.3 billion), including just over $4.5 billion for the platform.
