Investment manager Allianz Global Investors (AllianzGI) has appointed Joanne Wheatley to the newly created role of head of UK institutional client services.
Based in London, Wheatley will report to Philip Dawes, head of UK institutional at AllianzGI. She will help to manage AllianzGI’s existing client book, working with clients to identify and explore new investment opportunities.
Wheatley joins AllianzGI from BlackRock, where she spent eight years as a client director within the Global Client Group. Before BlackRock, she worked as a team leader for UK institutional business at Merrill Lynch Investment Managers.
Wheatley has over 16 years of industry experience, and has worked across a variety of asset classes and investment styles.
Commenting on Wheatley’s appointment, Dawes says: “Joanne is joining at an exciting time for our institutional business in the UK, with our footprint continuing to expand.
“With strong demand across a diverse range of asset classes, including infrastructure debt, multi-asset, multi-factor investing, global sustainability and global equities, it’s vital we ensure our client service keeps in step with our growth.”
Allianz Global Investors has over €412 billion in assets under management as at 31 December 31, 2014.
