The Association of the Luxembourg Fund Industry (Alfi) is appointing Marc Saluzzi as its new president, a role which runs for two years, replacing Claude Kremer.
Having joined Alfi’s board in 2001, Saluzzi later joined its strategic advisory committee and became chairman of the Alfi alternatives committee in 2009.
Saluzzi is PricewaterhouseCoopers’ partner responsible for the Luxembourg financial services practice and a member of the firm’s country leadership team.
In total he has 25 years experience in the investment management industry in Luxembourg and the United States.
He is also a member of the CSSF-OPC committee, which advises the Luxembourg regulator on laws impacting the fund industry.
Saluzzi commented that the European funds industry is going through a “defining moment”.
“Faced with a regulatory tsunami and major macroeconomic and demographic shifts, the industry will have to adapt to a very demanding environment,” he said.
