Boston-based asset manager Acadian has appointed Mark Webster as portfolio manager in its London office, where he will report to senior portfolio manager Patrick McCafferty.
Acadian says the appointment reflects its growing European presence.
Webster will develop and refine Acadian’s investment processes and support marketing and client services.
His career spans 23 years of institutional equity markets in Europe. Most recently, he worked at CCLA Investment Management as investment director, leading the firm’s portfolio construction and risk analysis development, and streamlining fundamental and quantitative inputs to maximise returns.
Previously, he was European head of active equity quantitative strategies at State Street Global Advisors for ten years. He has also worked at Exeter Investment Group, Murray Johnstone and the Abu Dhabi Investment Authority.
Kelly Young, managing director of Acadian Asset Management UK, says: “Mark’s appointment signals our growing presence in the region and underscores Acadian’s commitment to ensuring our resources are closely aligned with the areas of greatest future growth in the asset management industry in Europe and the Middle East.”
Acadian has around €64 billion in assets under management.
